Noggin, a Sydney-founded global provider of cloud-based business continuity planning, operational resilience and critical event management (CEM) software, has been acquired by US giant Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2009 and now with more than 100 staff globally, Noggin's software is used by governments, airports, hospitals, venues and more to ensure the strength and security of their systems.
Noggin will become an important part of Motorola Solutions' emergency coordination technologies, helping enterprises and critical infrastructure anticipate, prepare for and efficiently respond to incidents.
The company’s integrated platform offers flexible workflows and checklists, built-in maps and situational awareness dashboards to help streamline incident management and strengthen business resilience.
"Our technology investments to connect those in need with those who can help are more critical than ever," says Motorola Solutions chairman and CEO Greg Brown.
"Noggin enables the operational resilience and incident management capabilities that are essential as industries globally continue to see threats scale in number and complexity."
Noggin CEO James Boddam-Whetham says the company is thrilled about the acquisition as the latest step in the journey, allowing Noggin to sell to an expanded customer base.
"Together with Motorola Solutions, we will continue to help enterprises quickly respond and manage all types of adverse events and disruptions," he says.
A spokesperson has confirmed that all four of Noggin's founders, James Boddam-Whetham, Owen Prime, Travers Carter, and Charlie Forsyth, will remain with the company.
